Kite Hands Glowing- n. a place of many gestures and movements, and yet it's also a profound stillness ex. light falling through willow leaves as the redwing blackbirds sing on a Sunday afternoon, while children fly kites and you kick sand between your toes and the sand makes a whoosh sound and the fog sings slowly off the south-western horizon; and/or the smell of the chaparral in the late afternoon as the hermit thrush sings through your chest filled with a thousand butterflies while searching for small, smooth, pebbles that can sometimes be as blue as the moon and kept in your pocket.
Kite Hands Glowing (gerund and verb) is Nadia Lucia playing music with friends, in solitude at the piano, or with a guitar. "Before Crossing the Water" is Kite Hands Glowing's first album made of songs written from 2012-2015 and recorded in Awaswas-Ohlone territories (Santa Cruz); Amah-mutsun Ohlone territory (East Bay); Maidu-Nisenan territory (Sacramento), and Eugene, Oregon.
